Alumni constitute an important constituent of an institution of higher learning.
It is through them that an institute reaches out to the public. They serve as brand
ambassadors who spread the message of their alma mater. Their effort brings in new
students, new faculty and staff, and new projects. The prosperity and good name
of an institute strongly depends on the goodwill of its alumni. - Director , NIT

NITRAA stands for - NIT Rourkela Alumni Association . An association made by the
alumni of NIT Rourkela to share common platoform and help for the betterment of
the college and the society.
The Alumni of NIT Rourkela have been progressing constantly in all spheres of life.
They have made their mark in various circles, be it Research, Technology, Science,
Defence, Politics, Business, Finance or Art and many more.
NITRAA Pune was formed with the objective of bringing together all the NIT Rourkela
Alumni residing in Pune under one roof and to work for general good. The thought
was materialised in December 2012, when NITRAA Pune held its first official get-together
at Pancard club; one of the leading clubs in Pune. It was indeed a matter of joy
for all Alumni in Pune. It bought together many Alumni from different batches. The
Alumni who attended the meet pledged to ensure that NITRAA Pune not only exists
from that day on but rather thrives; which it has been doing since then.
This was followed by the marking of the Foundation Day of NITRAA Pune, which was
held in January, 2013 at the same venue. This was the day that officially marked
the formation of NITRAA Pune chapter. Since then, it has been recognised by the
parent body and has been fully functional.
The first Executive Committee was also elected on the same day.
